2013 was an exciting year for 7 Paranormal Investigation Team.  Ghost hunts were carried out at new venues throughout the north east of England and Scotland.  Close to our base in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear we visited the venues; Old Hartley School in Blyth, Blyth Library, Kirkley Hall in Ponteland and the former Leazes Board School in Burnopfield County Durham.  We traveled further a field when we dropped in on Gilmerton Cove close to Edinburgh and returning to Jedburgh Jail.  The year came to an eventful conclusion when we visited the Castle Keep in Newcastle.  What did we learn from 2013?  Besides that petrol is expensive, you can read the rest in our investigation reports section of the website!

In 2014 we aim to deliver an interesting range of locations.

In February we have a Ghost Hunt at Vane Tempest Hall in Durham.  Vane Tempest Hall is listed as one of 5 Haunted Places in Durham to visit by The Spooky Isles.  This will be the first time we have visited this venue as last years investigation was put paid to by snow!  Now a community centre it was once a militia building and was used as a small pox isolation hospital, this combined with reports of paranormal activity make it an event we are all looking forward to.

In March we travel north for a Ghost Hunt at Otterburn Tower in Northumberland.  Historically the location dates back to 1086 when William the Conquerors cousin founded a castle on the site and has witnessed plenty of bloodshed over the centuries.

In May we return closer to home when we will be visiting the Old School House in Lanchester for a Ghost Hunt.  Another new venue for 2014.  The village of Lanchester in Durham dates back to the 1st century and reports of a haunting bring us to this location in the hope of gathering some evidence.  Now a community centre the building has seen many people pass through its doors.

In August we stay in Durham for a return visit to Mainsforth Hall for a paranormal investigation.  Only this time you can join us!  Built in 1927 as a Miners Welfare Centre, the buidling has been at the centre of mysterious happenings and we believe this needs further inspection.

August we will be going to Prestongrange Museum close to Edinburgh.  Through the centuries it has been the location of a 16th century harbour, a 17th century glass works, 18th and 19th century potteries and a 19th and 20th century coal mine and brick works.  Tragically it was the scene of an explosion.

Marsden Grotto Ghost Hunt

Our closest investigation to Halloween is the Ghost Hunt at Marsden Grotto on October 25th.  We are returning here for the first time in two years and it has always proven to be a popular location.  Close to Sunderland and South Shields for Grotto has been the subject of local interest for many years.  Speculation locally as to the history of the cave has run wild. Smuggling appears to have been its main use but was it used for something else.  During excavations 18 skeletons were unearthed on the site.  Like to find out?  Then join us for a Halloween to remember!

All events can have a booking secured by the payment of a deposit online.  Visit our Ghost Hunts page to view all our events, and keep checking back, we may be adding more, so bookmark us!  We look forward to seeing you in 2014.
